How to Sign Up for the Code Enforcement Hearing July 8, 2020

Hello,

As you all know, there is a hearing scheduled on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at 9 am regarding code enforcement issues with Shelley’s Septic Tanks.  The hearing will be conducted remotely due to concerns about Covid-19. You can be physically present in the courthouse for the hearing but you'll be viewing the proceedings on a screen in a different room there (Room 105) and be socially distanced from other attendees. Masks are required if you planned to do this.

Alternatively, you can attend the meeting using the internet or your phone. You can sign up to join the hearing this way by going to the link below. The sign-up process is pretty easy. Plan to do this in advance of the meeting. The same signup is used for both the internet and the phone. You will get a verification e-mail of your registration.

If you intend to introduce any relevant documentation or physical evidence during the public hearing, then at least 24 hours before the hearing starts, either e-mail those documents to coderesearch@ocfl.net or deliver copies of those documents to the Code Enforcement Division at the Second floor of 2450 W 33rd Street in Orlando, FL 32839. This is so that copies may be forwarded to the Special Magistrate or Code Enforcement Board and the Code Inspector prior to the hearing.

We encourage you to send stories of how Shelley’s code violations have affected you.

Note: If you submit any materials for the hearing please be sure to request that be included in the public record.

This meeting is open to the public under Florida’s Government in the Sunshine Law, therefore, every effort will be made to hear all persons having relevant evidence or argument to offer.  The Ethics Law of the State of Florida requires that the County keep track of every person who appears before an official hearing officer of the County, whether in an effort to influence the Special Magistrate’s decision making or to encourage the passage, defeat or modification of any proposal or recommendation of the Special Magistrate.  In order to implement the State Law, it is required that every person who appears before the Special Magistrate fully complete an official appearance form. These forms are available from coderesearch@ocfl.net and must be completed by anyone wishing to speak at the hearing in-person or virtual.  Additionally, please limit your comments to only information relating to this case.

If you have any further questions or concerns about how to register or if you’re having issues with connecting to the hearing, please contact Kelley Rose @ 407-836-4275 / kelley.rose@ocfl.net prior to hearing or day of the hearing Tonya Haynes @ 407-836-4274 / tonya.haynes@ocfl.net, Katy Gutierrez @ 407-836-4200.
