Updates on Anuvia- Increased Production Planned

Image
The air in Tangerine and the surrounding neighborhoods have been free, for the most part, of the stink of Anuvia since mid-June. We can't rest too easy though, because Anuvia has plans to sell a lot of fertilizer in the future.  The latest update on Anuvia from the Orange County Environmental Protection Department indicated that they had been shut down since June 3, 2020. Anuvia has stated in the past they plan to ramp up production in the fall for the Spring 2021 planting season.  According to Total Landscape Care , Anuvia hired a new vice-president to " lead Anuvia’s efforts to build existing retail and distribution alliances while seeking to create new customer partnerships to further advance the sales of SymTRX, Anuvia’s bio-based, sustainable fertilizer." These stories will be presented to the Special Magistrate who will oversee the hearing.  Letters/e-mails can be addressed to Tim Boldig, acting CE Manager, or to the Special Magistrate. Please ask that to have your email placed in the public record of the hearing.  You can e-mail your stories to tangerinestinks@gmail.com. You can attach your story as a document ...

June Update on Anuvia, Shelley's, and Monterey Mushrooms

Image
For Zellwood, Tangerine, Surrounding Neighborhoods June 13, 2020 Orange County sent an update on their investigation of the local odors.  Anuvia and Shelleys are dealing with the FDEP. There really isn't a lot of new information here on them. The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services inspected Monterey Mushrooms and didn't mention the odor in their report but did mention a sanitation issue. The FDEP issued a warning letter notifying them that they are conducting a formal investigation into the facility’s illegal use of “misters” or “evaporators” to increase the evaporation rate from holding ponds. It appears that they want to fight back on the odor reports.  Please, please continue to report odors. I know that it's a pain to report in two places but if there aren't complaints there isn't follow through.  We cannot stop now and need to stay on top of this issue.  Via Orange County today: Orange County Government is re...
