"Tangerine Residents, Today I spoke with the State Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regarding odors in the air in the Tangerine area. We had a very productive conversation involving the science behind abating odors. Since so many different agencies are responsible for enforcement, this situation is a challenge, but, we are making progress on lasting solutions. My office will be mailing you a letter with more detailed information very shortly."

Prior to this, Commissioner Moore posted this on her page on May 4, 2020.

It's great that Tangerine is getting attention but let me point out that we've been at this since February 12th as a group and for months before as individuals fighting the odor problem and we didn't get a mention until May 4th. Many of the group members have spoken with her staff multiple times.

A good number of her posts are about beautification projects all over District 2. I like beautification projects too, but I'd like to see Zellwood problems, namely the air quality, cleaned up too. The ugly stretch of Zellwood's "business district" on US 441 needs help too, but health should come before beauty.

This was sent to Commissioner Moore and references the beautification projects and
was added after the post was published as it was received after the post was made.

Please call, e-mail, or write Commissioner Moore to let her know that you value the air quality in our neck of the woods. There is a finite amount of money the district has and some of it should go toward fixing this problem by enforcing the zoning and emission regulations.

You can contact her office using the information below to let her know that you support her efforts in helping us deal with the odor problem.
