of the smells that are permeating our neighborhoods. Thanks to Christine Moore's 
office, we are now able to document smell occurrences on a digital file.  

Please Help Me Get Rid of This Smell so I Can Do Other Stuff

Around 6:15 am, the poo smell was overpowering while driving through the intersection at 441 and 46.

 I talked to Lake County this morning and they had no idea. We have to get them on board when the smell is in Lake County. For Lake County the e-mail contact is Stephanie.Dougherty@SLHealth.gov [UPDATE: I GOT THIS ADDRESS FROM LAKE COUNTY THIS MORNING BUT IT CAME BACK TO ME AS UNDELIVERABLE.]

I believe that I have mentioned this before, but it is worth repeating. Thanks for everything you are doing to address the smell issues around here. You are appreciated.

This morning at 7:00 am when I went out with the dogs there was a faint aroma of poop with a slight metallic smell. Not a good start for St. Patrick's Day.

Kathy Marsh of Christine Moore's office sent an e-mail to inquire if the meeting was still on.  Reply sent that the meeting was canceled at the last minute due to social distancing due to the Novel Corona Virus. 

7:25 am. I smell it this morning. I had a big coughing fit at 3:30am. I really need fresh air, not fertilizer smell. Dudley/Dora area. [Screenshot showing wind coming in from the Northwest, no timestamp visible]

I just called Anuvia [352-720-7070] to ask if they're running and it went to voicemail. I left my name and number and the reason for my call at 10:13 am. Alex called me back. They're not in production right now and haven't been since the end of last week. They will be going into production today and he asked me to call if we smell it tomorrow.

I went outside and smelled the smell [a member] smelled and the wind is SE. If you smell the smell today, please write an e-mail to the people listed below. [Usual short list]

So our meeting was canceled and understandably so. However, just hit with the #TheSmell stench in the air. Documenting. I guess the culprits are taking advantage of the canceled meeting and continue to be up to their old antics! 

We're just going to keep on documenting. Can you describe the smell?

I apologize for not documenting #TheSmell - it is as if a GIANT LOAD of ðŸ’©ðŸ’©ðŸ’© was dropped outside! Absolutely disgusting!

I’m on King Avenue close to Round Lake Road. And ðŸ’©ðŸ’©ðŸ’© the smell is so strong as though that giant load of ðŸ’© is right outside my house door!

I was looking at the map and the wind is coming from the southwest. Do you think it's Shelley's? I believe that they are southwest of you.

I don't know where #TheSmell is coming from. However, Shelley's and Anuvia are West of my house and Monterey Mushroom is North of my house. [Screenshot showing the wind is coming in from the Southwest]

Oh my goodness - WHAT is that smell right now? 9:00 PM on Tuesday, 17 March and it smells like rotten seafood! I went to take the dogs out to potty and literally could not stand outside for them to do their business the smell is so bad. Lake Ola Drive location. This is absolutely crazy.

I’m in Zellwood and we don’t smell anything.  UPDATE: As soon as I got home in Tangerine - literally just 2 miles up the road - stink stank stunk

9:30 pm. Just getting home.” biosolid” aka poop smell is BAD at my house. Thom went around the lake on the boat two hours earlier and said it was bad on the lake as well... hot and humid weather as well.

  "Report from my 12/17/20 tour of the Waste Water Plant" The Mt Dora Water Reclamation Facility on 441 and SR 46 has been in operation for approximately 12-15 years. Its’ primary function is to convert sewer wastewater into reclaimed water for irrigation purposes. The facility is operating at half its current capacity and is master-planned to be built to double its current size. Grease trap waste and septic tank waste are NOT accepted at the facility. This sludge has no smell when it leaves the treatment plant site. Zellwood Residents: Do We Need to Pursue This?

On February 5, 2021, FDEP issued a Notice of Intent to Issue a wastewater permit authorizing Shelley’s to continue to operate their Biosolids Treatment Facility (BTF). The public and other stakeholders have the opportunity to provide input by petitioning FDEP for an administrative hearing within 14 days of the Notice. Rules for petitioning can be found online. A time extension to file a petition may also be requested. Either request should be made directly through the Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of General Counsel. The mailing address is 3900 Commonwealth Blvd., Mail Station 35, Tallahassee, FL 32399-3000, or via electronic correspondence at Agency_Clerk@dep.state.fl.us followed by a mailed copy of the petition.

The Saga of Drainage into Lake Ola
