The Daily Sludge Report

Zero Days Without A Smell Report

Check back for updates as reports come in-

Please note that reports are from a voluntary Facebook group and each report also represents an unknown number of individuals who are also aware of the smells that are permeating our neighborhoods. Thanks to Christine Moore's office, we are now able to document smell occurrences on a digital file.

Please Help Me Get Rid of This Smell so I Can Do Other Stuff

Other Business

1. I called Stephanie Daugherty of Lake County Environmental Health and discussed the smell problem. She was aware of the problem being in Lake County. I got her correct e-mail address. Stephanie.Daugherty@FLhealth.gov
2. I sent a copy of the Sludge Report to Kathy Marsh and thanked her for her efforts in getting up the map.
3. This letter was sent to all of the usual suspects.

To all interested parties,

The people of Tangerine are experiencing irritating particles in the air that cause sore throats. Shelley's Septic Tanks and Anuvia Plant Nutrients, both of Jones Avenue in Zellwood, Fl. have both been notified that they are in violation of their zoning and are releasing odors into the air. Yet, we continue to be exposed to whatever respiratory irritants are in the air. This needs to stop NOW.

"The coronavirus ... affects the part of the lungs where gas exchange ... — takes place.

"As you get older, your lungs are not as elastic or as resilient as when you're younger. Those kinds of things, coupled with any kind of health issue you might have, trend toward this loss of airway function and respiratory function." " [Source: AARP]

Speaking for myself, I'm a healthy 63-year-old woman whose respiratory system is irritated due to whatever particles are in the air that we're breathing. My husband is a 68-year-old cancer survivor with a weakened immune system due to radiation treatment. We are not safe sheltering in our own home when we are breathing respiratory irritants from Jones Avenue in Zellwood because of these irritants that predispose us to contract Coronavirus if we're exposed.

If the particles are due to Shelley's burning mulch- tell them to stop now. If they are from Anuvia Plant Nutrients- tell them to stop production now. If they are from Industrial Container Services- tell them to stop now. We don't care where these irritating particles are coming from- we just want them gone. We have written letters and complaints and we continue to be at an unnecessary level of risk due to these companies.

Best regards,

Smell Reports

The map at the close of the day

1.  1:43 am The smell was sort of in the background but it was unmistakably there. I am so tired of this. Cross streets are Lake Ola Drive and Earlwood.

2. 1:35 pm I verified that the people visiting the neighbors [not members, so I invited] smelled it as well. I texted Anuvia to let them know (they asked me yesterday) and they acknowledged the text. The closest cross streets are Lake Ola Drive and Earlwood.

3. 3:00 pm The smell is now 4 out 10 and my ears are beginning to feel stopped up.

4. 2:45 pm I just got off work, stopped at the post office and the poop smell was overwhelming! Got home and the poop smell is strong. Maybe we should rename Tangerine Shelly's Poop Emporium and Strong Smell Home Base. I find it amazing that they are going so crazy about the coronavirus and the possibility of infecting everyone yet no one gives a rats butt about what we are going through. I think it is time to ramp it up a notch.

5. Burned chemical/ fertilizer smell.4:25pm. Dudley/Dora

6. I was copied on a smell notification. This is the same odor that I'm currently smelling.

The date of 3/17/2020 reflects that the shell of this report was set up before midnight last night
