Please Help Me Get Rid of This Smell so I Can Do Other Stuff
We rate today as 5 breaths of fresh air!
I knew that we were in for a good day when I saw that the wind was coming in from the North bringing clean, fresh air along with the cold. It was the perfect day to take the dog(s) out to play. Here are a few comments made on our group page today.
I’d like to take a moment to say that today’s wind is coming furiously from the northwest it seems and, although a pain for frisbee throwing [the dog is loving it.] It smells delicious! Go outside and enjoy, neighbors. Happy Saturday!!!
I was able to walk my dogs today! Why can't this be EVERY day?
It seems that a lot of us have dogs. Mine is out on the back porch right now enjoying the fresh air.
Two days in a row with the wind blowing south, I cannot believe how nice it is to be outside with clean air!
Today reminds me of the good old days of fresh, clean air.
No nasty smells on Allen St. today. We are taking advantage of the weather and lack of smells by catching up on some much-needed yard work. 🌳🌺🌸
Thankfully there is no wind from the South today. The pups and I were able to enjoy a rousing game of fetch in the backyard. This is the way I expected the air quality to be every day when I moved here. Let's all keep writing emails to ensure the officials take the matter seriously and a solution is found soon!

Lake Ola Backyard 2010 Before the Big Stink
After the monthly breakfast at the Tangerine Improvement Society, one of the TangerineStinks page admins and I went out as part of the #TeamSmell crew to visit the newest subdivision in the area, Holly Estates. Another admin and I visited earlier in the week but they didn't open until 10 am and we were out earlier.
We had met some homeowners there earlier in the week and they had no clue that they were practically in the backyard of a fertilizer plant. This is our Facebook post about that:
The #smellteam went to Holly Estates to ask the sales staff if they're disclosing the smell to buyers. They really weren't interested in talking to us. We told them that "We come in peace" and didn't videotape them. They took our flyers and said that they didn't have time to talk to us. They're doing a land-office business, by the way. #Zellwood #DRHorton
I promise you that we were nice and waited until no buyers were around to ask about the smell. They didn't kick us out but they didn't welcome us either. I had considered buying a home there previously, but I wouldn't now.
We did smell the smell.
Then it was time to check some of the businesses on Jones Avenue.
Zellwin Farms has been putting smoke or steam out every time we've gone by but we didn't notice an odor. According to its website, "Zellwin Farms Company is a molded fiber packaging company specializing in the manufacturing of egg cartons and egg flats. Family owned and operated, Zellwin Farms was a pioneer in the farming industry for over 50 years. Now, utilizing those same pioneering skills Zellwin Farms Company has become an integral part of the molded fiber packaging business with egg cartons and egg flats of excellent quality.
In our continued efforts in protecting the environment, our egg cartons and egg flats are made from 100% recycled paper. All egg cartons and egg flats are of excellent quality and offer superior protection for your eggs."
Then we drove by Shelley's Septic Tanks and didn't see anything going on. When I passed by again later, I saw a green tanker truck leaving the yard. Then we drove by Industrial Container Services and nothing was going on.
Anuvia was the last stop on our list. There was an odor. The wind was coming in from the North.
That's it for today. It's much easier to write when there's not a lot to report.
