RE: Shelley's Septic Tanks and Well Water

Good afternoon,

I live next door to Shelley’s Septic Services and we use well water for our household needs including preparing food and beverages. I have become aware that the Florida State Department of Environmental Protection has cited this business for poor runoff control of their products during storms and other problems.

I am aware that Shelley’s Septic Services has a poor record of following the requirements for handling waste in the proper ways and employees were charged with felonies for improper dumping of sewage waste in the past.  Because the nature of this business is working with raw sewage and biosolids, this is a concern for me.

Clearly, this company’s record shows that they have little concern for the health and well being of people who may be exposed to their sewage and its products. We are a young family with a child and we are concerned that our well water is or could be contaminated with toxic chemicals and/or disease-causing bacteria from untreated sewage and/or biosolids.

I appreciate your investigation into this matter and ask that you keep me apprised of developments as they occur.

Best regards,
