Resident Complaint Re: Bad Aromas in Tangerine- Tangerine Stinks
Dear Ms. Repass and Ms. Gardner,
I am REDACTED and I’ve lived in Orange County’s rural settlement, Tangerine for 21 years, raised in Orange County for 68 years.
There have often been ripe aromas from time to time; mostly experiencing the horse bedding/soil used by the Mushroom plant. With a nearby animal cemetery, we apparently have smelled it.
Only in the last maybe two years have we endured pungent, obnoxious human waste smells. These odors affect our quality of life, interfere with enjoying breezes through open windows or sitting on a front porch or back screened porch. Walking the dog is unpleasant when human waste smells waft our way.
Tangerine is a bird sanctuary. We chose to live in a rural neighborhood because of fresh air and wide-open spaces, starry nights and sun soaked days. The smells of late are diminishing that life quality and I fear if not solved, will diminish our property values.
Our government leaders owe taxpayers a safe, clean, quality environment in which to live, play and progress. They need to preserve the resident tax base by meeting our life quality pleas.
Local residents are working to make our air pleasant and safe for our families. Please record this report of the odor and forward it to the appropriate departments.
Last Tuesday, February 17th: It is 5:45 pm. Hubby told me he smelled something foul on the back porch. Yep, it is A 💩 smell; so bad we had to shut the house up. Can’t enjoy the cool evening on our Tangerine porch tonight. Sickening.
I have previously left messages on the County mayor’s line and others; unfortunately on weekends when offices are closed, when families are in their homes, not elsewhere working, and we want to enjoy the fresh air and Florida’s temperate climate.
Please listen to North Orange County. Please drive in our neighborhoods and check it’s quality.
Thank you for listening.
